Assessment of Personality Psychopathology Lab

Picture
The Assessment of Personality Psychopathology (APP) Lab is directed by Dr. Jaime Anderson. Our lab focuses on the assessment and diagnosis of personality disorders, particularly with the use of dimensional personality constructs. More specifically, our lab conducts research in several areas:

1) Personality psychopathology:
  • Validation of well-established and emerging models and measures of personality psychopathology
  • Understanding the structure of personality psychopathology
  • Validity of personality disorder trait diagnosis
  • Functional impairment in personality disorders
  • Predictive utility of personality traits

2) Personality assessment:
  • Examination of specific personality psychopathology measures (e.g., DSM-5 PID-5)
  • Validity of broadband personality and psychopathology measures (e.g., MMPI-2-RF)

Forensic Emphasis: Many of the projects in the lab are concerned with forensic populations or settings. For instance, previous research has focused on personality assessment in forensic settings, personality disorders in forensic populations, etc.
